About the Lineage of King Salomon
Over 3,000 Years of Wisdom, Initiation, and Spiritual Knowledge
The Modern Mystery School traces its spiritual lineage back more than 3,000 years to the time of King Salomon, whose name has long been associated with wisdom, knowledge, and the mysteries of the universe.
According to the tradition of the Modern Mystery School, these sacred teachings have been preserved and transmitted through an unbroken lineage of initiated teachers and masters, carrying ancient wisdom from one generation to the next.
In the Mystery School tradition, lineage represents more than a historical connection. It is the living transmission of spiritual knowledge, authority, and responsibility through the sacred process of initiation.
Through this lineage, students enter a path of spiritual development designed to deepen their understanding of themselves, their relationship with the divine, and their unique purpose in life
This is the foundation of the Modern Mystery School's central teaching:
KNOW THYSELF.
To know yourself is to discover your true nature, recognize your potential, and understand the unique purpose you are here to fulfill.
The lineage preserves the wisdom of the past while providing a path for individuals to embody that wisdom in the present.
What does it mean to hold a lineage?
The Sacred Responsibility of Preserving Ancient Wisdom
Within the Modern Mystery School, lineage holders are entrusted with safeguarding the teachings, initiations, and spiritual authority of the ancient tradition of King Salomon.
The three lineage holders, collectively known as the Third Order, are:
- Sovereign Ipsissimus and Hierophant Gudni GED Gudnason, Founder of the Modern Mystery School
- Sovereign Ipsissimus Hideto REI Nakagome
- Sovereign Ipsissimus Dave THOR Lanyon
Together, they oversee the preservation, integrity, and continued transmission of the lineage throughout the world.
As one of these three lineage holders, Sovereign Ipsissimus Dave Lanyon carries the responsibility of maintaining the ancient teachings while guiding the Modern Mystery School's continued growth and development.
Having joined the lineage in 2004, Dave has dedicated more than two decades to the initiatory path, the study and application of Hermetic wisdom, and the international expansion of the Modern Mystery School.
His leadership combines ancient spiritual knowledge with practical experience in business, organizational development, and teaching, helping individuals apply the principles of the Mystery Schools to their everyday lives.
For Dave, holding a lineage is not simply about preserving the wisdom of the past. It is about ensuring that this knowledge continues to inspire transformation, empower individuals, and serve humanity for generations to come.
